Got the coolest thing the other day at Holly Lobby. If you are an artist who uses multi-media - you can NEVER find what you need when you need it. If you are an artist who is over 50 this is compounded by the constant feeling that there was something that you wanted to do/get/use and you just can't remember where you last saw it. Well -no more! Of course now I need another one for the watercolor, oil and acrylic brushes and gadgets that go with that - the gold leaf knife, the miscellaneous bottles that change the viscosity of the watercolors, lacquers for the oils, something to keep the acrylic paint from drying out too fast - oh yeah - then there are pastels and charcoals. Now - if only there was a rack, similar to a bike rack that would allow me to get my stretched canvases off the ground and still leave room for air to circulate around the not-quite-dry paintings. Isn't life as an artist grand? It is like being in kindergarten with nap time twice a day!

I have taken over the entire bottom floor of our little tiny house - 850 sq ft upstairs, about 820 downstairs - - the basement even came equipped with a jet soaker tub. So - when I run out of ideas and I'm idling - I can just fill up the tub, soak for 20 minutes or so and shazam! Back to art with new ideas. I LOVE MY STUDIO!

The curtain is actually something I made for a relatives house. I wish that I had windows and rooms large enough to do the same thing for my house, but alas - it would be sorely out of proportion. Still - it was a great project that I had NO idea how to do and after procrastinating for about 4 months I finally just dove in and did it. As you can see, the space is a 'little disheveled' but everything that I need is all within a couple of steps in one direction or the other.

Izzy, our 9 year old basset, reminds me that it is time to go for a walk. It is time to go for a walk - now. IT IS TIME FOR A WALK NOW!!!!
So, dear readers - we are off to the park. Hope you are making art. Next blog is on nature dolls. Go gather some twigs, some twine, some fabric glue and trinkets, ribbons, colorful swatches and something to make into a head - I'm using that air dry sculpty. A couple of friends and I have decided to take a walk on the wild side and make something fun.
