No Keto pictures today - 31 October 2018 (no candy either). Spent the day at the DAV filing notice of disagreement (NOD's) and finally filing for an update on conditions. Copies of hospitals outside the VA, CHOICE doctor (Internal Medicine and Cardiologist), VA Blue Button records and for the first time - the copy of medical records from Ft. McClellan. YES, I got a partial copy of the records from there, but at least I can prove that I was in the Army - the first time around VA said I was not even though I had the DD Form 214 to prove it.
It is exhausting knowing that the VA isn't going to admit that the base at Ft. McClellan, Alabama was and is a Superfund site for poisons. The VA isn't going to admit that the Monsanto plant just outside of the gate was responsible for poisoning the water with chemicals discharged into the rivers running parallel and inside of the base, nor the airborne chemicals (PCB's and PCE's to name only two of dozens of airborne chemicals. Dying slowly and painfully is a hard pill to swallow. Ft. McClellan vets are asking for a Health Registry Act that will gather information about the generational effects on the DNA of those exposed. It would be a repository for the damage chemical agents such as Agent's Orange, White, Pink and Green, sarin and mustard gas, benzene in the waters, radio isotopes in the soil and a page and a half (81/2 x 11") of harmful and deadly nuclear, biological and chemical agents. Our children have spina bifida and degenerative disc disease, kidney failures in their pre and teenage years, bone disorders, autism, the list goes on and on and one. Pre-existing conditions? How will we even be able to provide health care for our children and grandchildren with ailments due to exposure of their parents and grand-parents. How do we find insurance for ourselves? And what happens to those back from the Middle East who are missing limbs and traumatic brain injuries? The VA has said that they "can't afford" to take care of these Vets. It will cost too much money, it will take too much time.......
