KETO JOURNEY

 Keto Journey
Day 4:  October 3, 2018
Weight: 280
BP 151/80
Sugar: Morning 184
Sugar: Evening 140

Breakfast was left over sausage and gravy from earlier this week over scrambled eggs.  I got up late and didn't really feel much like eating but we had errands to run - so, we ate.

Skipped lunch - again, not hungry BUT I did have a handful of roasted peanuts and a non-sweetened iced tea and went to find some art supplies. Tim is going to try his hand at pastels.  There is a gallery in Port Townsend here in Washington that is having a landscape call for entries in October and November is 'small art' - I am hoping that he will enter a work or two with me.  He is so talented, it is a shame not to share it with the world - or Port Townsend at least.

Tomorrow is a triple appointment day - 3D mammo and diagnostic mammo for a lump that has been growing for a while and try as I might for the last couple of years - all the VA would authorize is a straight up yearly mammogram.  The lump is at the top of the breast, very near the lymph node.  Friday is the pre-op appointment to see if the chances the "folicular lesions of indeterminate origins" is more likely to be cancer or if mis-diagnosed heart problems (without any testing VA doc called it "congested heart failure" - after testing - not so much but the information and the "discussion" with the Dr. this week leaves a pretty negative entry in my health record.  I am petitioning to have the entries removed as I DID attend a mammogram appointment but the paperwork was wrong so the imaging center cancelled. They were very gracious about it and when I went to get proof of the appointment they (imaging center) set up the 3D and diagnostic exams in 2 days.  Still - alot on the plate....

Speaking of on the plate - tonight's dinner was Carobonara - not like the kind I had in Italy when I was stationed there - but filling and not bad tasting.    I can give you the ingredients, but the recipe is copyright.  It comes from the Keto book.

Starts with bacon!  Chopped cabbage, onions, garlic and Parmesan with eggs (beaten) turned into the cabbage at the end of cooking.  There were meatballs in the recipe - consisting of ground beef, onions, egg, mushrooms and garlic.

The recipe says there is enough for 4 - Tim had 2 helpings, but, that is still in keeping with the parameters of the plan.

Tomorrow comes before we are ready for it, the day ends before we have finished our tasks
For all the advancements we have made, there is less and less time just to sit
to relax
to watch the sunset
to feel the wind in our hair
to see the stars
appear
in the night sky.
